Improving Attendance Through Data-Based Decision Making

The most recent national attendance data found roughly 1 in 6, or over 8 million, K-12 students were chronically absent (missing 10% or more of school) during the 2017-2018 school year.  During this last school year, many of the students who were previously likely to be chronically absent were the same students who were particularly vulnerable to the health, economic and educational impact of Covid-19. Identifying solutions matched to student attendance needs, implementing them well and measuring the impact of those solutions are more important that ever.
